The other definition was not very accurate so here is a better one.

HSPVA (High School for the Performing and Visual Arts) was the first ever magnet high school founded in 1971. It is located in Houston, Texas and was originally built to help the integration by helping kids come together through a common interest of fine arts rather than race.

The departments include art (visual), dance (mostly modern and ballet, but some jazz and tap integrated as well), theatre (including but not limited to technical and musical), and music (instrumental and vocal).

HSPVA is not a typical high school in the sense that it is one big family. There is no real drama uproars and pretty much everyone is friends with everyone else. Respect and tolerance is a big deal and greatly a part of PVA's environment.

To go to PVA, you must audition. It is pretty tough to get into, and each art area's criteria vary. You may audition for multiple, but can only go for one. The scheduales are half a day of your academics (typically English, Math, Social Studies/History, Spanish or French, and Science) and the other half if your art area.

HSPVA Vocal Dept.

Where the top singers of Middle schools in Houston, Texas go to have their spirits broken. It involves verbal abuse towards a collection of sexually confused/frustrated teenagers. Will be accused of smoking weed if you don't sing well. Better not wear a mask for covid, you will be berated for trying to not catch an airborne virus. Favorites will be picked, it won't be you.
"my mom really laid into me last nigh, felt like I was back in the HSPVA vocal dept."

The HSPVA creative writing department

The members of the creative writing department at HSPVA, located in houston texas. They are the not self-proclaimed chillest of departments.
"Wanna audition for The HSPVA creative writing department "

The HSPVA piano department

I mean, it's kind of self explanatory. The HSPVA piano department is a branch of the instrumental department at Kinder HSPVA, located in Houston Texas. they literally do one thing and one thing only, play piano.
"Hey dude, I got a friend in The HSPVA piano department. They might be able to play Rush E"

Kinder HSPVA Vocal Dept.

A department in the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts that deals with training of the voice in all (you will only sing classical music, stop dreaming) types of music. It is a school where the best middle school singers in Houston, Texas go to have their spirits broken. It will include verbal abuse towards sexually confused/frustrated teenagers. You will be accused of smoking weed if you don't sound the best, and you will be berated for wearing a mask for corona virus. You will be ridiculed among the other art areas for being "stupid musicians". You will come out a better singer but you will NEVER want to do it again.
"My mom really laid into me last night, felt like I was back in the Kinder HSPVA Vocal Dept.

A lighthearted reaction upon receiving disappointing news of some sort. Usually something that isn't a particularly a big deal, esp. when it primarily affects someone else - sort of a mild schadenfreude. Sometimes doubled or tripled, and possibly said in a sing-songy voice for added comedic effect to imitate a muted trumpet, which is how the meme originated.

Surf Dracula Syndrome

A phenomenon in film/television series, most notably streaming series, where the main premise is drawn out to such a point that it takes an entire season or more to get the parts of the series the audience is actually interested in seeing.

For example, if a series is titled "Surf Dracula," a majority of viewers would tune in expecting to see Dracula surfing by the first or second episode. However, the entire first season would instead be tedious padding and backstory before finally ending with Dracula surfing in the last five minutes of the season finale.
I watched "Smallville" on Netflix the other day. Dude, it was ten seasons of filler before he finally flew! Major Surf Dracula Syndrome!
