Franz Conrad von Hötzendorf (1852-1925) was an Austro-Hungarian Feldmarschal and Chief Of Staff of the Austro-Hungarian military until 1917. He is famous for his grandiosely embarrassing failures in Serbia (1914), Russia (1914-1915 read Siege of Przemyśl) and Italy (1915-1917 until battle of Caporetto). He was heavily interested in old style warfare, which just didn't work anymore in the new modern era. This particular played a huge role in his failures. Ratfucker
Brought to public attention by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein in the book on the fall of Richard Nixon, All The President’s Men, ratfucker was Nixon’s term for a political operative who sows chaos among opponents; an agent provocateur. It is thought to have originated among campus political rivalries at USC, and seems to have some usage in the US military.
Along with Nixon’s other ratfuckers, Roger Stone caused fights at otherwise peaceful Democratic Party protests to generate a false narrative that the Democrats were violent and dangerous.
