In Persian (Farsi), (goosht) literally means “meat” or “flesh.” But like many words in Persian, it can become affectionate, playful, or descriptive depending on context.

When someone says “gooshty” about a person, they’re usually not talking about meat in the literal sense. The meaning is often closer to:

* Chubby in a cute way
* Soft and squishy
* Cuddly
* Well-fed
* Pinchable cheeks
* Adorably plump
* Someone you want to hug

It’s often used for:

* Babies
* Children
* Romantic partners
* Close friends (playfully)
* “Come here, my little gooshty, I want a hug.”
* “You’re so gooshty today, I can’t stop squeezing your cheeks.”
* “Good morning, gooshty. Did you sleep well?”
* “Look at you, my handsome gooshty.”
* “I miss my gooshty. Come back already.”
* “Stop being so cute, gooshty.”
* “My gooshty is the best cuddler in the world.”

The West Coast slang for weed, smoking weed, or being high.

Although goosht is originally the Farsi word for meat, the term began to gain popularity amongst West Coast teenagers in 2013 to describe almost anything good. More recently, the term has adapted to have a more specific meaning as it is mostly used in this way. Instead of using goosht to vaguely describe anything that is good, any good feeling, or any fun/amazing action, the term exclusively relates to marijuana.
Ex:
Sev: "Yo Dan! I just picked up an eighth of some dank goosht. Wanna goosht up in the parking lot?"
Dan: "No way! Yeah, I'm down. What strain did you cop?"
Sev: "Alaskan Thunderfuck, brosef!
Dan: "Hooooolyyyy shittttt!!!! I'm gonna be so fucking gooshted after this!"
