Round, very simple, store bought or often homemade stuffed toys with simple expressions, made from scrap fabrics. Gonks were popular between 1960 and 1980 give or take, especially in UK and other areas of Europe. Originally, Gonks type toys came into action during WWII when stuffed toy factories were forced to shut down. Mothers and children could make Gonks at home with whatever they had on hand.
James crafted his Gonks from old tweed, his father's silk tie, and his holey sock, then he hugged them.

A beautiful song composed by Herbert Chappel that is originally from the movie "Dawn of the Dead" and is also now used in the "New Castle Ale" commercials.

A person who is very intoxicated (drunk) and acts in a foolish way, losing control of ones faculties and behaviour. A term used by doormen in Waterford, Ireland.

The title of the "official" mall muzak in the original "Dawn of the Dead". Sounds like a zombie playing a xylophone.
If my local mall played muzak like "The Gonk", it wouldn't make me want to buy, buy, buy. It'd make me want to leave, leave, leave!
