Fuckyani

noun | South African culinary slang

A lazy, improvised variation of breyani or pilaf in which the cook abandons traditional preparation methods and throws the available ingredients into one pot, usually an Instant Pot, with the general philosophy of "fuck it, it'll be fine."

Unlike traditional breyani, Fuckyani does not concern itself with elaborate layering, separate cooking stages, or having every prescribed ingredient available. Frozen chicken, lentils, potatoes, rice and whatever masala happens to be in the cupboard are all considered acceptable.

Pronunciation: fuck-YAH-nee
Origin:
Coined after a cook realised that what was being produced was technically closer to a pilaf than breyani, but pilaf didn't adequately capture the complete disregard for culinary procedure involved.

Fuckitall-in-one-pot cooking

Example:

"What are you making for dinner?"

"Fuckyani."

"What's in it?"

"Chicken, lentils, potatoes, rice and masala."

"Where's the ginger and garlic?"

"Didn't have any."

"So it's not breyani?"

"Exactly. It's fucking Fuckyani."

A relgion based around Fuck It. You don't need to go to a holy place of worship, or to pray, you just need to Fuck It. The "Feckers" follow the word of The Big Fucker In The Sky, who doesn't need to take the shit of anything. He just Fucks It.
