The Fediverse

Alt-media is better than mainstream social media, but it still has the problem of centralization. The "fediverse" refers to all federated (read, free) services and protocols, from video sharing with Peertube to "FOSS [Discord]", the Matrix Protocol.

It is infested with lefties, which is ironic for a group that would shut down all federated services by force in their own society for enabling "fascism". However, since these services are truly free and federated, you can always start your own instance comprised entirely of your own friends or those approved by yourself.

The Fediverse, just like everything else in existence, is under attack by politicians (read, subhumans, criminals) via threats to e2ee and p2p protocols, which are the very foundations of some of these services.
The Fediverse is what the Web should be.

More people should use Federated services

If you truly believe you are the sole owner of your data, you will use fediverse services.

the fediverse

a decentralized social network, or "federated universe," of independent social media websites and platforms, which all interoperate with eachother via the activitypub protocol, forming the larger network. this includes several instances of mastodon, misskey and its forks, pleroma/akkoma, etc.

it isn't owned by any one party, in the same way that "email" isn't owned by gmail, outlook, and thousands of mail servers connected to the internet.
i also have an account on the fediverse if any of you nerds wanna follow me over there

fiversection

Out-of-towners driving in Pittsburgh may be confused when they come upon a fiversection, that is, an intersection with four ways to choose, rather than the usual three or two.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
