A pseudo-intellectual who prides themselves on being “informed” by mainstream sources and never questions the official story. The cognovine believes they’re thinking critically by adhering to popular media narratives, while dismissing anyone who dares to look beyond the surface as a “conspiracy theorist” or “uneducated.” Unaware of their own lack of depth, they’ll be the first to shut down conversations that challenge the groupthink they rely on.
“Any time you suggest an alternative view, Mike rolls his eyes and spouts whatever the news just said. He’s such a cognovine—thinks he’s smarter than everyone who questions things.”
“Linda read one article and now thinks anyone who disagrees with the official story is delusional. Total cognovine behavior.”
"Despite his confidence in his unconventional views, his ideas seemed carefully crafted to align with the in-crowd—he was a classic cognovine."

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.
Doom II is not abandonware because id still sells it, while The Incredible Machine is not sold, therefore is abandonware.

Foot prisons

Socks. Annoying, sweat-causing, non-barefoot enducing, everyday socks.
The first thing I do when I take off my shoes, is rip off the foot prisons I had to wear inside them. That's why I prefer flip flops, even in winter!
