A snobby person who only shows up to church service and attends as many as possible to try and look holier than any other person in the congregation. Whereas people who attend a church service with pure altruistic intentions can be compared to church mice, a church rat is someone who is a predatory pest in comparison to the harmless mice. Church rats tend to be holier than thou, hypocritical, gossiping nuisances.
He's a church rat looks down on the other people who don't come to every church service let alone every sunday.

A person who worships the Christian/Catholic faith to the point of practically living inside the church but at the same time not wanting to become a priest/nun.
