Buggum

(n) Any small object that may, or may not, be an actual bug.

Normally employed by hardy types that don't really care all that much if something near or on them is an actual bug.

"What's that stuff on the side of the canoe?"
"Buggums"
"OK ... I guess" (gets in the water anyway)
