Pertaining to an elite society of gay men who pride themselves on an extreme sense of class, style, fashion, and glam. See katherine hepburn. Prefer diamonds over cashmere, cardio over bagels, and flirting over coffee. Not considered a Nancy, but sometimes a Mary. Can always be counted on for the lastest in premium insults, scandal, and fashion hip-tips. See Queer Eye.

Woman: "Oh hell,it's an A-Gay! Quick, hide those shoes from Nine West!"

A-Gay: "Is that a Member's Only jacket? Heavens, I think we just came in close contact with Mad Cow Disease!"

An A-list gay; an affluent, well-connected, upwardly mobile gay man or woman.

The A-Gays could talk about whoever was tooting coke in the bathroom.
The B-Gays, being largely decorative, were not expected to talk.

"The A-Gays" -- white, wealthy, "straight acting" gay men who's activism is mostly centered on the property, taxes and finances associated with relationship recognition.

Not necessarily bad in connotation because they often fund many equality efforts.

That "A" Gay is only an activist if it means he can keep his house."
