"Septum Theory" Theory

A dismissive phrase invented as a lazy insult toward women with septum rings. It’s most often used when the person insulting can’t actually respond to what a woman with a septum piercing is saying — so instead of addressing her point, they reduce her to her jewelry.

It’s not really a “theory” at all — it’s a cop-out comeback.

People lean on “Septum Theory” when they’re out of arguments, turning someone’s appearance into the debate itself.
Her: “That’s actually factually incorrect, here’s the source.”

Him: “Uhh… Septum Theory.”

Translation: “I don’t have a real argument, so I’ll just insult your piercing.”

Her: Says anything that goes against men in general

Him: Septum theory strikes again.

Translation: I have no argument.

Aka "Septum Theory" Theory. The theory that men will find anything they can to try an degrade a woman, logical or not.

Septum piercing theory

It’s that women (maybe men as well?) with septum rings will allow and sometimes demand, that their past trauma or past adversity embody their personality. Self reflectively, they can maintain a state of perpetual victimhood which in turn allows them to maintain a state of constant and “justified” mental turmoil. They’re then allowed to make themselves the center of most conversations by explaining why their past trauma relates to seemingly benign, but ultimately offensive (because of aforementioned trauma) topics, and has led them to no longer have a positive outlook on said topic or in life.
Septum piercing theory checks out for this one.

Septum Ring Theory

The actual origin of the Septum Ring Theory stems from the belief that when someone experiences trauma — especially something that made them feel powerless, violated, or unseen — they often search for ways to reclaim agency over their body or narrative.

The septum piercing is particularly striking because:
• It’s central on the face — hard to miss.
• It’s reversible (can be hidden or removed), offering flexibility.
• It has cultural associations with rebellion, nonconformity, and strength.

So, wearing one can become a kind of armor or badge — a visible reminder: “I’ve survived something, and I’m not the same.” It turns internal pain into an external identity marker that others can see, but only the wearer truly understands the meaning behind.

In current use, The Septum Piercing Theory denotes unnecessary aggression on social media stemming from someone who has made their trauma a part of their identity.
The Septum Ring Theory never fails. Look at this unhinged cow rant about the way her ex left her. I can see why now.

Septum Ring Theory

The Septum Ring Theory is the social observation and slang that finds a pattern between women who wear septum piercing and a certain set of personality traits like being chronically online and holding exaggerated leftist views.

It's frequently used as an insult in comments of sexist / misandrist women who try to disguise their hate as "wokeness" or social justice.

There's an alternative definition that was later created by people that felt called out by this slang that claims it's the theory that some men dislike women with septum piercing because you need to be over 18 to legally obtain it.

Septum Ring Theory

Septum Ring Theory is a pop culture phenomenon in which observers notice specific choices of fashion can indicate positions on subjects and personality traits, especially negative ones, and that septum rings indicate that a person will exhibit traits like being abrasive, confrontational, hateful, stubborn and other traits that make it difficult to relate to them or become familiar while also indicating an extreme left position on politics to the extent of villainizing anybody who doesn't follow their very specific political ideologies.
Omega_iteration got angry when hearing something they didn't like and painted an entire political persuasion around the world as paedophiles. Septum ring theory indicates a high likelihood of this person having a septum piercing.

Power Couple

A relationship between two people who are equally as cool as each other. They are as individually awesome and fun to be around as they are when they are together.

Neither one depends on the other for their feelings of self worth- they know in their heart that they are just as valuable to the world as the other. Good looking, optimistic, and sparks a light in the world that people recognize that goes beyond a normal relationship.

In a power couple, if one person is flawed, the other person makes up for their weaknesses in strength. Together they are the epitome of what anyone would desire in a relationship. They encourage goodness in the world and make it a better place by being together.
I'm a fan of those two, they are such a power couple, the epitome of what anyone would want in a relationship.

I am envious of them because they are a power couple.
