If it weren't for the prison industry, and the trash shipped into our landfill, this town would have died long ago. Good bye high paying factory jobs, jazz clubs, social outlets and simple pride. Hello psych center rejects, crack heads, criminals, relocated prison families and self serving conservative politicians. Drive right by this fucking hell hole. Visit Corning or Ithaca where you won't feel guilty for wasting your time and money. Where else would they tear down the Langdon Mansion and install a fucking strip mall, then have the balls to claim Mark Twain as their own. The most backward thinking town I have ever lived in. Those painting a prettier picture of this god forsaken place are deluded at best. If you MUST stop, take a shit on Main Street, it won't be noticed.

The town of Salamanca is in the south part of the county. The city of Salamanca is the only U.S. city that was built on land leased from an Indian reservation.

A village of five thousand something people 12 miles NW of Rochester, NY. Has two stoplights, located at each end of Main Street, which is only like 300 feet long. Tends to be fairly conservative. Has a McDonald's and a handful of diners that serve the same basic fare. For fun, residents usually go kill time at the mall in Greece. Most people you meet there will have lived there for most of their lives, young or old. If you've been in the Hilton school district for most or all of your school life, you can most likely name 50+ people who you've known since elementary school. Has a carnival every summer and the "Apple Fest" on the first weekend in October. It is in no way associated with Paris Hilton the Hilton hotel family. The schools have good athletics and arts programs, but are pretty average otherwise.

CSI: New York 

CSI: NY (working title CSI: New York) is an American police procedural television series which premiered on September 22, 2004. The series was the second spinoff from CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and was introduced during an episode of CSI: Miami when Horatio Caine journeyed to New York City in pursuit of a murder suspect who fled Miami. It is much bloodier than the Miami version, and was filmed in a hard blue light until Season 2, when CBS President Les Moonves wanted to make the show appear "less cold".

Another crossover (between NY and Miami) was featured on November 7 (CSI: Miami) and November 9, 2005 (CSI: NY), which involved a crashed plane and an escaped serial killer, and included members of both casts.

Like the other two CSI programs, the theme song is by The Who; this time the song is "Baba O'Riley", also (erroneously) known as "Teenage Wasteland".

Interestingly, the show airs in the same time slot as NBC's Law & Order, a much older crime drama also set in New York City.

Except for Gary Sinise, Melina Kanakaredes, and Anna Belknap, all of the cast members are from New York. However, Sinise and Belknap have both lived in NY at some point.

Hamburg, New York 

A town in Erie County, New York. It is within about a 20-25 minute travel distance by car from downtown Hamburg to downtown Buffalo which is the County Seat of Erie County.

It contains a village also named Hamburg, and another village named Blasdell.

It is a southtown. On a scale from 1 (Northtown) (e.g. Tonawonda) - 5 (Southtown) (e.g. Aurora) it is considered around a 4 or so.

The Town of Hamburg is south of the City of Lackawanna, Lackawanna being south of Buffalo. Despite this, some areas are still somehow considered Buffalo, but the roads and numbering are all being redone and or changed around, which may attribute to this confusion or problem. Be warned if your GPS isn't up-to-date, it will not work in this town in many areas.

You can find a decent restaurant, walk in a quiet little one-floor mall like McKinley's mall, it has strips like McKinley Highway which offer plenty of chain and even the occasional mom& popish store for mostly everything you want, so you can't go wrong in Hamburg, visiting or living. Also, Hamburg is in a decent location. You can get basically anything you want and commute to several near towns in anywhere from 5-10 minutes to usually not more than 25-30 minutes if that.

VanillaCoffee: I've seen a good chunk of Erie county and I like Hamburg, New York the best. Cool little town... I may even soon officially be a Hamburger. Ahaha...
