To hepcatify oneself meant to embrace the latest trends, dress in stylish clothes, and develop a keen sense of music and art. It was a way of life for many young people who wanted to rebel against mainstream culture and express their individuality.
Back in the day, I used to hang out with a group of hepcats who would hepactify anyone who came into their circle.
I've been listening to a lot of jazz lately, and I really want to hepcatify my music taste. I'm going to start collecting vinyl records and attending more live shows to get into the scene.
