Taking the late bus

The act of taking the late bus, meaning to walk out from a school event with one or more friend, your excuse being "to take the late bus".

A sarcastic remark to let people know that they don't need to know where you're going or what you're talking about.

"Hey Margaret, let's go take the late bus!"

"Yeah, let's ditch play rehearsal for a while."

"What are you guys doing?"

"SHUT UP BEN, WE'RE TAKING THE LATE BUS OKAY?"

time after curfew when two people sneak out to hook up; attractive because
a. late nighters are generally too awkward to hook up under normal circumstances
b. usually kept secret, if either party is embarrased by the other
c. little talk- lots of action
d. similar to a midnight snack

Guy1: Did I see your SUV parked outside of Mary's house around 2 am on sat?
Guy2: What are you talking about? I'm hooking up with Sara.
Guy1: Then why were the windows fogged up and Mary moaning in shotgun?
Guy2: Why were you driving by at 2am anyway?
Guy1: I was late-nighting with Sara, tool.

The Late-Night Pitter-Patter

Not for the faint of heart. When one roommate openly wrongs another in a irreversible fashion, the victimized roommate is then entitled to cause severe emotional and physical stress by slapping his roommate at an unruly time in the wee hours when he is sleeping. Note* the roommate doing the slapping is to do his best to make the other extremely paranoid, vulnerable, and scared to the point where his roommate will not get to sleep for an extended period of time. The person receiving the slapping may cuss, threaten, and even plea with his tormentor and would-be assailant to avoid the malicious attack. However, these wheelings and dealings must fall on deaf ears, as the aggressor mercilessly makes good on his the threat.

The phrase derives its name from the sound the roommate makes as he sneaks his way across the room to the bed of his unsuspecting pal.

You shouldn't have slept with my mom, now I'm going to give you The Late-Night Pitter-Patter of your life.
