social construct

A rhetorical technique used (often by a neurotic undergraduate a with a Yoko Ono tattoo) to deny the existence of irrefutable fact. But this is not its original meaning:

Properly understood, a social construct is a thing that emerges as a result of social interaction. For instance, the price of gold is a social construct—it emerges from the market for gold as an approximation of how society presently values gold in relation to another asset, usually currency.

Social constructs are no less "real" than the price of gold is "real." It's not as real as gold itself, but it's pretty damn real.

fake conservative

A shape shifting political hack who will identify himself as a conservative, but ultimately lacks conservative principles and instead lives on the motto "Support the Republican Party irrespective of what it does".

Some examples of fake conservatism in America today are:

1. Supporting a balanced budget and minimal government spending, but being a Stakhanovite supporter of fighting costly wars in the middle east that burgeon national debt.

2. Claiming to be opposed to federal entitlements, but expanding spending on programs such as "No Child Left Behind", and politicizing the actions of the Federal Reserve.

3. Opposing welfare payments to unemployed Americans, but having no scruples whatsoever about (but more often, actively supporting) sending an unconditional blank welfare check to Israel every year.

4. Being lax on 'national' security by overlooking weak immigration laws and poor aviation and port security, choosing instead to use the American military to fight Israel's wars for it in the middle east.

5. Calling Britney Spears' sister a 'pinhead' for getting pregnant before marriage, but worshiping Bristol Palin for doing the same.
Most pundits on Fox news such as Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, as well as flat-out traitors in the Republican party like Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, and Dick Cheney are fake conservatives. They are nothing more than party hacks.

console wars

The stupidiest war that has ever been fought... Ever. It's usually filled with stupid graphic whoring fanboys and nerds who always have to point out every detail of a console thinking that the more power it has the better it is. (Newsflash: Just cause it has more power doesn't mean it's instantly better. For example the SNES didn't need fancy graphics just to create awesome games.).
With the release of the Nintendo DS and PSP the stupidity has taken to a next level, man I should write an article called "Nintendo geeks versus Sony freaks"

(Oh yeah and freak is used as an insult, I can't believe people title themselves as 'freaks', I'll just point and laugh at them.)

consider the source

another way of saying that any information recieved from a certain source can't be taken seriously because that source has been wrong before, or lacks credibility.
"hey did you hear Elvis is still alive?? he was seen at a casino in vegas last week! actually they say he's even the owner!!"

"get out! where'd you hear that from?"

"oh I read it in the enquirer."

"hah! I should have known."

"what, you mean you don't believe it??"

"are you kidding?? I mean, come on...consider the source already!"

Conscious irony

Conscious awareness of ironic consciousness. Awareness that one's consciousness is a self-actualized linearization of time that originates from cyclical time origins. Awareness that the existentialism (cyclical) of consciousness is counterposed to its actualization (linearity). Understanding that one cannot traverse linear time to the past and that the future and present concurrently (cyclically) impact each other.
Conscious irony is the understanding that you cannot travel back to the linear past you can only move to the cyclical future which is the eternal now.
