Also refers to the fusion of R&B/soul music with pop music and rap beats; soulless R&B with pop music sensibilites and rap music beats.

i.e. Mariah Carey, Ashanti, Beyonce, Ciara, Usher, Mario

Ciara does not make R&B music, she does hip pop.

Giving a stripper or other exotic dancer by placing bills of money in their costume (usually a thong) at their hip.

1. If you want a dancer to pay you special attention, give her a hip tip.

The horn/sound effect added to most hip hop songs to execute a song transition, or just to hype a song up.

There needs to be a hip hop horn at the beginning of that song.

Hip Check

-Performing a sudden action towards another person to test their reflexes, usually in a manner meant to 'troll' them.
-Used in hockey wherein one player uses their hip in an attempt to off balance another player in an attempt to knock them over
-Also used by the freaking plesioth from monster hunter
