Early editions of minecraft fall under this definition as well. This law is related to the phenomenon of liminal spaces, though it is limited to video games, especially older games. These games also tend to be 3d titles, though they do not always have to be as such. Other games with a generally unfitting creepy/unfinished atmosphere also follow this law, such as gmod's gm_construct, or pokemon's lavender town.
