the Giver

A great book. Takes place sometime in the future, in a utopia. This community has no diversity or difference among its residents. Later it is realized to be a dystopia, for the way they "release" (execute) some of the citizens, for population control reasons. (Oops! Did I just spoil it? Sorry!)
Jonas, a member of the community, is chosen to work under the Giver. He is a man who stores all memories of sadness and strife. Later in the book, he tries to reform the community by running away, releasing all his kept memories, so the citizens can learn from them.

1. A very popular BBC radio series written by Douglas Adams, originally broadcast in 1978, with new episodes broadcast in 1980, 2004 and 2005.
2. A book released in 1979 by Douglas Adams, derived from the first series of 1. Also the blanket title for a series of four further books by Adams set in the same universe. Sometimes known as “a trilogy in five parts”.
3. 1979 stage show derived from the first series of 1.
4. 1979 LP recording derived from the first series of 1.
5. 1981 BBC television series derived partially from the first series of 1., with some material from 2. and additional original material.
6. A 1984 computer text adventure game by Infocom, freely adapted from the beginning of the first series of 1.
7. A 2005 film from Disney, very loosely derived from the first series of 1. Widely felt to have lost most of the humor and pacing of the original in the process of adapting the material to an American audience. The death of Douglas Adams (and subsequent editing of the script by others) may have played a part in this.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was one of my favorite books in High School.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Arguably the best Western ever made. Only Once Upon A Time In The West and Unforgiven can rival it.

Stars Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach. Directed by Sergio Leone.

The third and final film in the loosely based "Man With No Name" trilogy.
There are two kind of people in this world my friend. Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.

Kate the Great

In the year 843 B.C. Macedonia, the reign of Kate the Great was errant. The people, becoming upset, had decided to overthrow their Queen and control the greatest city ever. With her final last words which had a bittersweet symphonous meaning: REMEMBER WHO IS YOUR GODDESS, YOUR QUEEN, YOUR ONLY RULER! KATE THE GREAT! with the last speech, her existence fell underground, for centuries she turned tricks in the French government, selling cigarettes and running the most classiest of whore houses. It was when in 923, France, Kate's existence became apparent once again, having killed King Robert I, she in turned used her advanced ancient military tactics until she moved to america and became a normal girl. However, she still retained the famous name "Kate the Great".
