Portraying an emotion or action theatrically; emoting refers to any action that looks like it could be an emote in a video game, or an action that is not productive in any way. Can be any strange action that brings nothing meaningful to a conversation or your own productivity.

“Bro he’s still not ready yet? What’s he doing?”
“Idk, he’s just in his room emoting. We’re gonna leave without him in 5 minutes though.”
