Def. A poogetter is anything that can be denoted as something negative. Also used as a negative connotation to describe a word or phrase.

1. Most commonly is used to replace "curse" word in situations were is might not be appropriate to use them.

2. A word that is used to replace any other noun to form a negative connotation.

3. It can also be used to help describe a subject for form a negative connotation.

Ex.1 Someone is at school and a teacher catches him/her cheating on a test. The first reaction might be to say "shit", "fuck", or "dammit." However, these types of reactions have a tendincy to make the situation worse in the an "academic setting." So instead him/her says, "poogetter."

Ex.2 "That guy is such an asshole!" Instead someone would say, "That poogetter is such an asshole."

Ex.3 "That girl was such a bitch" Instead someone would say, "That girl was such a poogetter."

Lennart Poettering

A somewhat well-known author of surreal horror fiction from Germany, Lennart Poettering is mostly known for writing overly long and confusing works such as Pulsations of Autophilia (a tragedy about a sluggish autistic teenager who is murdered while fucking his uncle's Porsche and comes back as a ghost to seek vengeance) and Systems Down (about a server administrator who finds himself locked in the server room after closing time with a horrible, memory-corrupting abomination).

I picked up this new book at Barnes and Noble, but it says that Lennart Poettering is required reading so I'm taking it back.

Poetterware is a type of software mostly found on Linux systems, for example systemd, pulseaudio, policykit, consolekit, xdg-open, colord and more.
This software generally works very well and solves really complicated problems, but if it doesn't behave the way it should, you will have a hard time debugging the issue (e.g. via dbus), working around it (by quick hacks) or use alternative software. It may be written by Lennart Poettering or the freedesktop foundation or other participants in the ecosystem.

You're using Gentoo Linux with systemd? Yes, although it's poetterware it works very well for me.
