Stall Waiting

When you realize that you and your neighbor have
finished using the bathroom at the same time so you delay exiting the stall a few seconds to avoid
any uncomfortable eye contact or "excuse me"s while leaving the stall.
Wait period is usually until the person reaches the buffer zone of
the sink, where all normal social etiquettes are re-activated.
"Hmm...Bob and I just flushed at the same time. I better wait a few seconds so I don't run into him."

Wallingford

Yes, it is a fairly wealthy town in Connecticut, but nothing compared to Fairfield County. Contrary to what most believe, most residents do no flaunt their money, but some do. There are plenty of large expensive homes, but there are a lot of small, medium sized homes. Many people do, in fact, have second homes (the cape, vineyard, Vermont, Florida) and many vacation any chance they get. But you have to understand that this is not the case for everyone in town. The stereotypical Wallingford kid is polo popping and has a nice car, but again, it's not everyone. College is big...very big. A schools reputation goes a long way in this town. Ivies and mini-ivies are common, but a ton of kids go to Uconn. 95% of Wallingford high school students go on to college. Schools in town are very competitive, if u have a B average (3.0 GPA) you almost always in the bottom half of your class. Parties are also a big thing. BMWs, Mercedes, Lexus, Land Rovers, and so on are not uncommon, but there are plenty of Chevys, fords, and jeeps. Snobbery is something you have to get used to, but not everyone is a stuck up. My point is that Wallingford is not filthy rich. There are plenty of average families who work hard and live modestly. It's a great town.If you wanna see rich go to Fairfield County.
Bro, Wallingford Kids are so stuck up!

Waiting on Opie

a customary waiting period in anticipation of your marijuana to be delivered while wondering why Opie was delayed (usually accompanied by anger, annoyance, excitement, and impatience). This conduct was something his friends were accustomed to and wish they could wait for him once again.
Jason and I laughed at Chad because he was stuck at home waiting on Opie and missed out on all the fun.

gods waiting room

Slang term for the state of Florida. It refers to the high number of retirees living there.

Waiting for the other shoe to drop

To await an event that is expected to happen, due to being causally linked to another event that has already been observed. Gets its origin from the joke in the example.
A guest who checked into an inn one night was warned to be quiet because the guest in the room next to his was a light sleeper. As he undressed for bed, he dropped one shoe, which, sure enough, awakened the other guest. He managed to get the other shoe off in silence, and got into bed. An hour later, he heard a pounding on the wall and a shout: "When are you going to drop the other shoe?" Thus the term "waiting for the other shoe to drop."

waiting in vain

Hopelessly waiting for something/someone that will never be yours.
I was waiting in vain for him to leave his wife.
