Thingamajig. Also referred to as whatchamacallit, or thingamabob, dohickey or just simply "thingy".

It was a very touchy car.. to get it to start, you have to fix the thingy on the whatchamadingle.

Whatchamadingus 

Whatchamadingus (noun, humorous/slang):

A playful mash-up of "whatchamacallit" and "dingus", used to refer to a person, object, or gadget whose name you can't recall or don't care to specify. Often used when pointing to something or someone with vague familiarity or comic effect.

Tone: Informal, whimsical, slightly old-fashioned or cartoonish.

Example usage:

"Hand me that whatchamadingus over there—the thingamajig with the twisty top."

"Some whatchamadingus cut me off in traffic this morning."
