Virtual friendship 

A friendship that exists mostly through text and social media as opposed to direct human contact.

Bro 1: Yo, bro, you still friends with ____?
Bro 2: Yeah, but it's not going anywhere. She only wants to talk online or through text. She never wants to chill.
Bro 1: So it's a virtual friendship?
Bro 2: Yeah... fuck.
