A child fed via a tube. These are surgically placed tubes due to feeding or swallowing issues and are absolutely medically necessary. Without these tubes, many children would literally starve to death. Feeding tubes can be in the form of a gastrostomy, called a G-tube, a jejunostomy, called a J-tube, or a combination of the two, which is referred to as a GJ-tube.

Sometimes kiddos that are fed via long term nasogastric tubes, or NG-Tubes, are also referred to as tubies.
