to 'scoop'

To be so upset about someone copying something from your private forum that Makin Bacon put this up here:

to "diva"

"verb: The act of copying posts from a private forum and showing them to nonmembers with the intent of causing trouble.

"If we give her access to that folder she is likely to pull a diva" "

But then to be a hypacrite and turn around and do that to someone elses forum. and apologize thinking it makes it all ok.
Can you believe she pulled a 'scoop' after she was so up set with it being done to her.

to get scooped

A term used in the scientific community. When another group is using a scientists results or ideas without his knowledge to publish something before him, this scientists is getting scopped. Scooping is considered a bad behaviour among scientists, close to cheating and admitting that you don't have your own ideas. However it happens on regular basis leading to a high level of paranoia (especially among grad students, where the carreer prospects depend on the number and quality of publications).
XY got scooped (to get scooped). The research group from that other university used the infos from his poster to publish before him.
