The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod

Share definition Flag
A five book series about a half human, half vampire boy named Vladimir Tod and a prophecy surrounding him. Although some parts of the book are very serious, the author still manages to make the books extremely funny and light-hearted. A vampire series that isn't a cliche, sappy love story. *cough* like Twilight. An easy, yet awesome read, if you enjoy the supernatural. Written by Heather Brewer.
The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod- one of the best vampire books I've ever read.

Didn't start the Gangsta era, that was back with N.W.A. It did however revolutionize gangsta rap with its melodic, three dimensional beats. Before that a repetitive loop was used for a beat. Released in 1992 by Dr. Dre following his breakup with N.W.A.
Shit, playin' The Chronic just makes me wanna go to da hood and pump my hydrolics.

the chronic (what?) cles of Narnia

Share definition Flag
The hook from the rap/snl short entitled "Lazy Sunday", as preformed by Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg, which originally aired on Dec 17 2005. The use of (what?) to pause between "chronic" and "cles of Narnia" isn't merely a clever stylistic emulation of aggressive rap, but also refers implicitly to the chronic, or very potent marijuana, as is evidenced in the rap video by numerous references to snacks, the inclusion of "we love" and "pass that" chronic in two of the chorus lines, and the very title of the short itself, "Lazy Sunday", a weekend day when many twenty somethings typically smoke weed and veg out after partying on Friday and Saturday.
Parnell and Samberg: "the chronic (what?) cles of Narnia, yes the chronic (what?) cles of Narnia, we love the chronic (what?) cles of Narnia, pass that chronic (what?) cles of Narnia!"

The new guy seems pretty happy for a dude who has no job, no money and no family. He must be on a pink cloud.

Striver

Share definition Flag
The striver is an interesting phenomenon that is seen across college campuses. In essence, the striver is an over-achiever who comes from a working or middle class family. He may be an immigrant. He may have been a slacker in HS who was "born again" into an academic wunderkind. Or he may just be an over-achiever who is keeping at it.

The striver is willing to sacrifice his social life at the expense of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. The striver is the guy who stays at the library long after you are gone. The striver is the guy who takes 30 credits/semester and considers anything below an A/4.0 failure. The striver doesn't work on campus, he is too busy finding ways to pad his resume instead of working retail or workstudy. The striver lets his grades pay his education by applying to ten scholarships a year.

The striver is a future Soros/Fullbright/Rhodes/Gates/Marshall/etc. fellow. The striver lives to study. For the striver, their fun comes from the rewards they expect to receive in return for their diligence. Be it Law School, B-School, academia, or politics. The striver seeks to find the American Dream through academic success.
Anthony was a striver. He transfered from a TTT to an IVY and graduated in 2 years. He studied his ass off and went to Penn Law. He got a Biglaw offer. But lost it all because of an unmoderated mesasgeboard.
