the trail off

when a group of people are talking/bitching about someone they're not sure they should be because either someone in the group is a big gossip or friends with the person they're bitching about; they 'beep' out the important words by trailing off.
example of the trail off in action

person 1: yeah i know she's so like.. mm
person 2: yeah and she came in and was like.. yeah
person 1: *agrees* yeah i remember that, it was so like...
person 2: yeah.. what is with her..

person 3: CAN SOMEONE PLEASE FINISH THE SENTENCE?!

...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead

a rock band from Texas
often simply called "Trail of Dead"
a very good band and in my opinion the hope of alternative rock, a genre that suffered so much in the past few years.
they got everything: musical talent and the jolly good ambitions to bring variety into every album, cool lyrics, stylish artworks and on stage they simply ROCK! make sure to be there if they are around for a show.
i simply like ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - although first i thought they play some emo crap. but then i listened to them!

On the trail of the ever illusive M.Renard

v. to be out getting drunk on gin. In order to catch the crafty fox from French folklore one must visit drinking holes and order large gins as this is most likely where the gentlemanly vulpine will be found. Of course he is a devious creature and extremely difficult to find so many establishments will have to checked and lots of gin will have to be ordered. The meaning is similar to chasing the dragon. (There is always a risk that while you are rolling around on the floor of some dive enveloped in Mother's Ruin that Monsieur Renard will be at your house seducing your wife) This course of action is highly inadvisable.
"I have a day off tomorrow, it should give me an excellent chance to get on the trail of the ever illusive M.Renard"

one turn on the trail

This was said by an old man acting as Clyde Barrow's father in the movie "The Highwaymen". I suspect that it means something like proceeding in yet another direction.
After working on the roof of my home I descended the ladder and mowed the lawn which was essentially one turn on the trail.
