the plague

in a historical context, the plague often refers to the bubonic plague or "black death", also known as pestilence, which wiped out large portions of the population of Europe and Asia during the 14th and 15th centuries

in a modern vernacular context, the plague refers to someone being out with illness, most often a chest cold or flu, usually exaggerating the extent of one's illness while demonstrating their incapacity
Sara can't come in today, she's out with the plague
Okay then send her my condolences and tell her to get better soon!

The Bubonic plague, otherwise simply called the "plague", killed millions of people in medieval Europe

The Plague

Contrary to common misconception this infact means very good or amazing. One is often amazed at the amazingness of something when using this phrase.

The Plague

An underrated (so underrated I can’t find that much info on them-) American band. There are many bands called The Plague so allow me to specify

They have an album called Hope For The F.U.T.U.R.E. with the following songs in order.

1 - Soul Coma

2 - Not The Only One

3 - Danger

4 - Fallen

5 - Make Me Over

6 - Will You Ever Know Me

7 - Can't Stop Loving You

8 - Fire Roar

9 - Antidote

10 - Living Failure

11 - Best Year of Your Life

12 - Bleeding in the Snow
13 - Not God

The deluxe edition on Spotify has instrumentals as well as two remixes - a remix of ‘Danger’ done by Kaixo and a remix of ‘Fallen’ done by Becko.

Personal faves are - Soul Coma, Danger, Fire Roar, Antidote, Living Failure and Bleeding In The Snow.

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.
