The Leaf Joke

Originally referring to a specific joke (where a leaf has no money for a taxi), the term "leaf joke" now applies to any lame joke that you and your friends tell to outsiders, laugh at, and pretend is funny.

This results in a lot of confusion by the outsider, and they'll think they've missed the point... and typically laugh so they look like they "get it".
The Leaf Joke (ending):... and the dim sim said "No"

Your friends: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Outsider: (what??) Oh! Yeah! hahaha!!!

Smelling the Leaf

1When used in situations where the stakes are dire, 'Smelling the Leaf' would mean that you are taking the easy way out, and that you would rahter risk your whole life to just a simple thing such as that situation.

2However, when used in light-hearted situations, it would mean something less severe, like ending a conversation or as comic relief.
1 Hey, Dude... I don't want to get mu shit stolen by these Niggaz, so I'm gonna have to be smelling the leaf on this one.

2 This conversation is over, now let's have afternoon tea and we'll smell the leaf.
