shakuhachi
1. The shakuhachi (しゃくはち) is a Japanese flute made out of a hollow length of, most frequently, bamboo, with five holes for fingering, creating musical notes based on the pentonic scale.
But the lovely, haunting sound produced by a master player of the the instrument is caused by blowing across a chamfered cut at the mouthpiece, called a fipple. A person who is a die-hard fan of the Latin Goddess Shakira. A ShakiFan has the ability to start singing a song in English, continue singing it in Spanish, and then finish the song in French or Arabic or any other language that Shakira can speak. ShakiFans can bellydance to any song, and will get frustrated if you say things like "Shakira is not a rocker" or "She is pregnant again!". Regardless of their nationality, all ShakiFans are half Colombian, and their prior linguistic interest is Spanish.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
