roadloading

A juvenile but time-honored midwestern tradition in which one underage person packs as many of said underage person's friends into their vehicle as possible. With a 30-rack in the back. (Perhaps 2 in more capacious vehicles :) The vehicle is then driven out into the sticks where there are only gravel and dirt roads. It is put into drive, and every reasonable attempt is then made to touch neither the brake nor the accelerator for the next several hours, until the beer is gone. On modern vehicles that don't creep forward in Drive, set the cruise control for no more than 5mph. Only the steering wheel is then used, as the driver (who is HOPEFULLY sober) makes random turns. No attempt is made to remember what turns were made or where the vehicle is headed. When the beer is gone, occupants attempt to figure out just where the hell they are. This is probably less interesting now that GPS is in every phone. But hopefully, you're also well out of cell service area so you can experience it as so many generations have before you :)
So looks like football season was cancelled due to 'Rona. Guess we're roadloading Friday night.

Roadboating

The act of manning the helm of a vessel (usually while inebriated or consuming a beverage of some sort) while it is being towed on a trailer behind a truck. Most commonly road boating is seen in MD when the truck bed is full of people and golf bags and space and time are of the essence. It also reduces the number of DDs needed for a large group of people.
We had a couple guys roadboating to the golf course because the truck was full and they wanted to drink on the ride there legally (drinking on boats while they move is legal unlike trucks).

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.
Doom II is not abandonware because id still sells it, while The Incredible Machine is not sold, therefore is abandonware.

Foot prisons

Socks. Annoying, sweat-causing, non-barefoot enducing, everyday socks.
The first thing I do when I take off my shoes, is rip off the foot prisons I had to wear inside them. That's why I prefer flip flops, even in winter!
