A substance (chiefly a drug) used in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of disease and for restoring, correcting, or modifying organic functions. They may alter brain function, resulting in temporary changes in mood, perception, and behavior. These drugs may be used recreationally to intentionally alter one's consciousness for ritual or spiritual purposes, or as medication.

Psychogetically

Psychogetically (adverb)
Pronunciation: sy-koh-GET-ih-klee

Definition:
In a manner by which a person comes to understand, accept, or internalize an idea through psychological and emotional experience rather than through intellectual explanation alone.

Descriptive use:
Something is understood psychogetically when a person does not simply know it intellectually—they get it because an experience, emotion, realization, or change in perspective causes the idea to become personally meaningful.

In simpler terms:
Psychogetically = when something moves from “I understand what you’re saying” to “Now I actually get it.”

Example:
The leadership exercise was designed to help participants understand accountability psychogetically; rather than simply defining ownership, it placed them in a situation where they could experience the consequences of avoiding it.
