Phoenixing

When you hit your early 30s and realize you need to reassess all your shit...your values, your beliefs, and your choices, because for the first time in your life you can clearly hear your own voice, and it's time to start living that truth even if you have to burn yourself to the ground and rise from the ashes as someone new - more authentic, stronger, and giving absolutely no fucks what the world says you need to be.
That girl is changing...she owns her shit in a new way...she just gives no fucks anymore and knows what she wants. She's kind of terrifying but a part of me wishes I wish I knew myself like that. Girl is phoenixing...

Phoenixing

Our 30’s (or really any age) are a time to take stock, to come to terms with whatever great loss or trauma we’ve all come to experience by now, and to really begin to question who we are, who and what we want to. Sometimes this means stripping some of the old parts away as we step into our truer, more authentic self for the next chapter: this is phoenixing.
As we celebrated my birthday, I felt myself

phoenixing - letting go of past versions of myself to embrace a new chapter of growth and a more authentic version of myself.

Phoenixing

A phrase for the phase of life you enter after going through a really bad time. Your life feels like it's burned down, and slowly, after what feels like an inordinate amount of time, you resurrect in the best way possible — a way that can only be achieved by going through it in the first place.
"Four months after my breakup, I'm truly phoenixing."
"Eugh, after that bleak time, I'm like, feeling really good — I think I'm in my Phoenixing era."

Phoenixing

If zombieing is when a person who ghosted you comes back out of nowhere and the ghosting was negative, phoenixing is that but positive.

When someone who needed to ghost you due to life circumstances (job, relationship, family issues, mental health, etc.) and they come back during a time when the time is right for the both of you, the relationship has been phoenixed.
I met Luz years ago, but we were both focused on our careers. I felt a spark, but was travelling like mad at the time. Years later, after we had lost touch, I ran into her again at a friend's birthday party. And just like that, we Phoenixed.

I had to let Jeremy go. The timing wasn't right. He was in a relationship. I had just gotten out of one. Then, months later, he showed up behind me in line. We've been phoenixing a beautiful relationship ever since.

God Shot

A chance happening with profound meaning, an unexpected blessing, a "sign".
Dr. Drew on Celebrity Rehab said "All of a sudden what had been just another Hollywood proposal became for him an unexpected blessing, an opportunity for growth. In drug recovery language, that's called a "God shot."

city chicken

A food native to Pittsburgh/Western Pennsylvania in which cubes of pork and/or veal are put on a short, wooden skewer, breaded, then baked and/or fried.

I've heard that city chicken originated during the Great Depression, when folks didn't have enough money to buy full cuts of meat, so they assembled meat scraps on a wooden skewer, creating a make-shift drumstick. Hence the name.

endwarfins

The rush of neurotransmitters and neuropeptides triggered specifically by watching the Seven Dwarfs march home singing "Heigh-Ho" — that particular high of pickaxes, whistling while you work, and communal domestic bliss in a cottage built for men half your height.
I only meant to watch the Heigh-Ho scene for the endwarfins, and then it was two hours later and I'd watched the whole movie.

Endwarfins aren't just a Snow White thing — I get the same hit off the Lollipop Guild in Oz.

A slang term used to describe a bald person, typically someone who is completely bald or has a closely shaved head. The term is derived from the infamous, hairless kids’ cartoon character of the same name.
Example 1:
“Did you see that caillou over there? His head is reflecting the sun like a disco ball.”
Example 2:
“I think Dave is finally accepting his hair loss. He just went full caillou and shaved the whole thing off.”
