A portmanteau of "phony fact", referring to a statement that is presented as factual but is actually false or made-up, usually intended to deceive or confuse the listener with misinformation.
A: "Obama was born in Kenya, 9/11 was an inside job, vaccines cause autism, Trump is a Christian... and I can prove it!"
B: "You don't understand the difference between a PHACT you read online and an actual FACT."

Phact: A contraction of "phantom fact". Ref. synonyms fake news, alternative fact, lie, prevarication, falsehood, bullshit. May be ineffectual for oral communication since it rhymes with fact. Suggestions for oral expression: 1. Draw out the initial consonant, "fffffact", accompanied by exaggerated eye rolling. 2. (Preferred) pronounce it, "P Hacked"; resist temptation to use this form as a transitive verb.
