Nicoja is used primarily as a stop-smoking aid with which the user eats progressively lower and lower concentration worms. Nicoja is very popular in Asia, but has been banned in the US and most of Europe due to the presence of low levels of diphtheria contamination, which was brought about by unclean manufacturing processes.
