nerdophilia

Strong erotic affinity, preference or fixation with people who display a high level of intellectual ability and below-average social skills.
The wealth and popularity of online entrepreneurs has made nerdophilia more socially acceptable than ever. Geeks and nerds are suddenly moving up in the hotness scale...

nerdsploitation

the exploitation of nerds by producers of nerd-oriented films, books, or television shows.
You know none of the actors or producers of The Big Bang Theory are nerds. That show is nothing but pure nerdsploitation.

nerdsploitation

A particular genre of movie in which outcasts (geeks, dorks, nerds) are exploited either for humorous purposes i.e. to poke fun at the stereotype or as a vehicle for revenge .
The term was coined on the Babalu Bistro Podcast #3
I love the movies Carrie, Revenge of the Nerds, and Willard. I generally love all nerdsploitation flicks.

nerdopolis

Any institution, e.g. university or think tank, that is well known for its intellectual rigor, mostly to the exclusion of social venues or aptitude.
I've decided to attend Johns Hopkins University, despite its reputation of being a nerdopolis.

Nerdsplain

Nerdsplaining occurs when a nerd hears a topic they love and obsess over and can't contain themselves from telling you everything they know about it. Nerdsplaining is about overwhelming excitement on a nerd's favorite subject, not about being condescending in an effort to feel superior.
I mentioned that I liked the Iron Man movie to my little brother and he couldn't help but nerdsplain the entire MCU history to me.

nerdulate

1. The intense thought, focus, or social interaction of a nerd or nerds on any nerdy subject
1. Our Engineering department is busy nerdulating over their new software.

2. That sweet Newtonian telescope makes me want to nerdulate right here.
