Portmanteau of "nerd" and "networking": networking solely done with virtual friends never met in real life and possibly only known by nicknames.

Joey invited his friends 1137killer and Orkchieftain1983 from WOW to Ataripwner from his virtual-GO-tournament to play in his alliance in a SciFiMMO in an astounding display of his leet skills in nerdworking.
