Although Black Sabbath was really the first true heavy metal band, Led Zeppelin and others pioneered the metallic sound that became heavy metal.

Metallic Rainbow 

A rainbow lacking in color and presented in greyscale.

When displayed it can take on a few meanings:
1. An open statement of one's heterosexuality.
2. Having Anti-Homosexual sentiment.
3. A fan of the Metal genre of music.
4. In protest against the use of the rainbow as a homosexual symbol.
5. Replacement for non-homosexual emblems, labels, signs or etc. that feature a colored rainbow, as to avoid confusion.
