make believe armor

Share definition Flag
The imaginary armor for a man that protects him from false “me too” accusations and/or abuse from women.

Very similar to a customer service face, make believe armor helps men interact with women and navigate the treacherous world of womens rights.

While wearing make believe armor men can interact and simply talk with women without fear of reprisal or false accusations.

Typically make believe armor is worn at social activities such as dancing and parties but can and should probably be worn in the workplace or even at home.

While wearing make believe armor men are only able to talk about subjects that nothing sexual, sexist or overly masculine undertones or microaggressions can be taken away from ie the weather, sports stats, Wild Animal facts, and marinade recipes. Also things that are very technical like database building or power generation or ballistics.

*Make believe armor doesn’t actually exist except in the mind of a man or in other men.
“Hey Ma’am ”
“Hey Sir”

“The sun has reached it’s zenith and the temperature is warmer”
“Would you say it is hot?”
“No Ma’am I would not, because I’m wearing my make believe armor, I would say it’s certainly not cold

“Dude won’t even talk about anything but the third law of thermodynamics to that girl, he’s wearing his make believe armor”

“I’m sorry Jill I would ask you to dance, but I’m wearing my make believe armor so what do you think of Tom Brady’s completion record?”

The "Make-Believe" Effect

Share definition Flag
A term for the sensation felt by audiences while watching films or television shows with poorly written plots. The "Make-Believe" Effect creates the feeling that, rather than being developed by a professional writing team, a film's storyline was thought up on the spot by children playing make believe (likely during school recess).

The effect has a variety of causes, such as plot holes, use of cliches, unconvincing acting, obvoius plot armor surrounding important characters, or events in the storyline that seem too convenient. This effect is most commonly experienced by individuals viewing blockbuster action, sci-fi, and superhero films.

Longterm exposure to the "Make-Believe" Effect can lead to a variety of symptoms, including:

- Sudden rise in blood pressure.
- Profound depression upon realizing that the American film industry has gone creatively bankrupt.
- Loss of balance.

- Deeply held resentment towards the actors, directors, and companies profiting from the creation of such poorly

written films.
- A sense of isolation among individuals who lack the ability to critically evaluate what they're watching.

Unsurprisingly, researchers have discovered that dumb people possess a natural immunity to the "Make-Believe" effect.

If you think you are experiencing longterm symptoms of the "Make-Believe" effect, experts recommend abstaining from films belonging to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, going outside, or reading books for a change you stupid oaf.
Poe Dameron: "We've decoded the intel from the First Order spy, and it confirms the worst. Somehow Palpatine returned."

Innocent Moviegoer: "Oh REALLY?!! Ok.... SURE. Great writing JJ Abrams. Unfuckingbelievable." *collapses from shock*

Moviegoer (waking up): "Where am I?"

Doctor: "You're in a hospital. You nearly died 3 days ago after experiencing The "Make-Believe" Effect."

Moviegoer: Damn it JJ!

Toronto Make Believes

In Nhl hockey , teams are often given derogatory and funny nicknames by fans of opposing teams. In the case of the Toronto Maple Leafs one such name is "the Toronto Make Believes " or "Toronto Make Believes" which infers they are a team that plays make believe hockey. It suggests a vision of children playing in a playground , not grown men playing real NHL level hockey.
The Toronto Make Believes have no hope of winning the stanley cup again.
