Formally known as "Operation Susannah", the Lavon Affair was a failed Israeli covert operation. For the operation a group of Egyptian Jews were recruited to plant bombs in Egyptian, American, and British-owned civilian targets: cinemas, libraries, and schools. The attacks were made to be blamed on the Muslim Brotherhood and Egyptian communist organizations.
