Kicked her pussy up the wall

“Mary Berry, she really kicked her pussy up the wall” - Phil Lester

Getting Kicked Upstairs

Un undeserved "promotion" given to a mediocre manager for the sole purpose of removing them from an important position. Often involves getting moved to a new or largely inconsequential role with little responsibility. Commonly given to well-connected white men who cannot be fired without some sort of consequence.
Boss: We want you to take over for Chad as regional sales director. We are moving him up to serve as Senior Director of Product Awareness.

Employee: Great! But what is that position. Will I still report to Chad?

Boss: Hell no. He's getting kicked upstairs so we can give you the role. I'm not even sure what he will be doing. We kind of made it up so he would stop fucking up important things. But we can't just fire the senator's nephew.
