Humbugging

The artful dodge of putting down an activity someone finds an interest in. There's an implication that there's something wrong with the person who likes the activity, but because it's not spelled outright, there's plausible deniability.
Person A: I don't get why people like sportsball. It's so boring.
Person B: You're humbugging me because I like baseball?
Person A: I didn't say you're bad for liking sportsball...
Person B: No, but there's a strong implication there.

humbuggish

humbucking

The process of getting over on a store or corporation by faux claiming that the store did something wrong and owes for it. The humbucker is looking for either financial gain (a refund) or a new replacement for an old item that (s)he damaged and is either out of or ineligible for warranty. The humbucker preys on the store or corporation's fear of negative word of mouth advertising and thus cancels out any interference the entity might otherwise be entitled to invoke.
