Some guy in Utah just got fired from his teaching job for talking about words that sounds like other words. A clear case of homophonia.

hypophrenia

If you go to any medical-scientific dictionary you will find hypophrenia means "mentally retarded."

However, a lot of dumb 12 year olds on tumblr think it means "a vague feeling of sadness, seemingly without cause ." causing them to write sad little posts and desperate asks on yahoo answers about their hypophrenia and how to get rid of it
