A hybrid of ghosting and gaslighting. Ceasing all communication with someone and then, when they attempt to contact you, pretending like you have no idea who they are or what they are talking about.
John: "Guys, did you hear what Christina did?"
Catherine: "No, what?"
John: "She was too chicken sh*t to quit her job, so she just didn't show up and then when her boss, Will, called her, she acted like she didn't know who he was!"
Catherine: "Oh, wow, she's totally ghostlighting that dude, eh?"

Get the ghostlighting mug.
(verb) The act of pretending you are not ghosting someone by continuing to engage in superficial or superficial communication, such as liking their social media posts or sending them occasional messages, without actually committing to any real interaction or communication.

Note: Ghostlighting is often used as a way to avoid confrontation or to mislead someone into thinking that a relationship or connection is still active, when in reality the person is being ghosted. It is generally considered to be a dishonest and manipulative behavior.
I thought we were still friends, but then I realized she was just ghostlighting me by liking all my Instagram photos and sending me the occasional text message."
