Ganza is an old word used in Southeast Asia for a special kind of bronze characterized in a high content of tin. The alloy has also been translated to "bell metal" because this kind of bronze has been used for the casting of Bells and gongs.
The explorers Tome Pires and Caesar Fredericke wrote that the coins of Pegu (town in the southern part of Burma) in the 1500s were made of Ganza.
