A type of approach that some teachers use
frequently when teaching a lesson (most common in US studies). It's where a teacher goes so deep into an example it is as if there is no turning back to bring the
conversation back to
the original topic. This deep example starts to feel more like a crazy tangeant. It often makes students forget what class they are in.
Colleague: What? How did we go from talking about
American industrialization to talking about child
prostitutes?
Other Colleague: oh that's just Mr. Phoenix's Fergasonian approach to that topic. Don't worry, he always says you'll be fully prepared for the exam.
