Dosimetrists are medical professionals who are responsible for designing individualized radiation therapy treatments and radiosurgeries for cancer patients. Dosimetrists have extensive
knowledge in medical physics, radiation oncology (oncology: the
study of cancer), radiobiology (biological effects generated from radiation), and human anatomy and physiology.
Medical dosimetrists who have passed the
board exam (American Association of Medical Dosimetrists) are titled CMD (Certified Medical Dosimetrist).
