A gentle, goofy, emotionally-evolved boy with soft circus energy and a knack for surreal charm.
He’s not a Chad. He’s not a Soyboy.

Coined by a collective of Montreal-based artists, the term Doveboy was born in whispers—possibly in a basement, possibly around a kitchen table late a night. The idea emerged from a shared vision of a man—part circus performer, part emotional magician—asking softly,
“Do you want me to disappear?”
…and then vanishing in a flash of doves, only to return moments later with a fruit and a smile.
The Doveboy is a response to toxic masculinity.
He doesn’t dominate—he dances.
He doesn’t ghost—he slips out like a magic trick and always comes back.
He doesn’t shame you—he lifts you up and makes you giggle while doing it.
He’s not a trend.
He’s a tender revolution.

Boffin
British slang for a scientist or technical expert, esp . when the speaker is not certain of the expert’s specific field of study. Not necessarily derogatory, but typically used by persons without a technical background. In the US, the equivalent would be “egghead”, “squint”, or “geek.”
Origin of the word is unknown. Started sometime in World War 2. Given the typical evolution of British slang, could easily have started because what these experts did was confusing or “baffling” to the common person.
