cosplatriot

noun: a person (almost always a middle-aged straight white male from North America) who despite never actually serving in the military, enjoys buying as much tacticool gear as their paycheck can handle. Unfortunately that's usually a lot, because Mom doesn't charge for living in the basement. Cospatriots will attend pointless rallies, voice their opinions about "defending liberty" and own at least a few Grunt Style and Nine Line shirts.
"Hey Jim, want to get a beer after work?"
"Nah I can't, have a cosplatriot gig at the capitol I have to get ready for. We're protesting rights that aren't even being threatened."

Words you can keep

cosplaytriot

A combination of the words “cosplay” and “patriot” describing one who wears patriotic symbols as a costume; often without regard for true patriotism.
That guy wraps himself in the flag, constitution, bibles and guns but was a draft dodger and a sellout for the 1%. He’s a textbook cosplaytriot.

Cosplaytriot

An individual (typically an arrogant, hot-tempered male) who exudes faux patriotism. Often the subject claims pride in their country and dresses head to toe in gear supporting a single (often fascist) politician. Will likely claim to hate government but is willing to buy everything from their nearest military surplus store and dress up like paramilitary rejects from Wish to fight anyone who speaks ill of their dear leader. Prone to delusions of grandeur and failed civil war re-enactments. On their off days, they can be seen sporting the merchandise of their demigod as if he were an SEC football team.
Did you see all of those cosplaytriots storm the Capito on January 6th, 2021l? How embarrassing for our country to see a bunch of adults LARPing unsuccessfully against their own government.

Cosplationship

When two mutual friends consistently cosplay characters in romantic relationships, even if one or both of the friends is in a relationship with a significant other.
A: So X and Y are cosplaying Hungary and Prussia, Eridan and Feferi, Sakura and Sayoran, and Faust and Eliza? Are you sure they're not dating?
B: Nope, they're just in a cosplationship!

cosplaytriot

People who like to dress up and pretend to be patriots but really hate their country.
The people who invaded the U.S. Capitol on January 6 trying to overthrow the government tried to dress up and call themselves patriots, but they're really just cosplaytriots.

conflatriot

conflatriot

noun

kuhn-fleyt-tree-uht

A conservative voter in the United States who fundamentally confuses patriotic duty with totalitarian ideology.

The word conflatriot is actually a portmanteau, fusing the words conflate and patriot, to help the world understand just what the fuck has happened to America’s conservative political faction.

While right-of-center Americans hold dear to a political doctrine that champions individual responsibility, small government and low taxes, the majority of these men and women appear to have abandoned those ideals completely.

The wholesale rejection of medical guidance during pandemic abdicates one’s responsibility for the health and wellbeing of neighbors, Somehow, President Donald Trump, and his GOP stalwarts, seem only happy to disregard legal precedent and champion a coup never before seen in America’s body politic. Also, such that conservatives ignore wearing face masks and mock social distancing guidelines, overwhelming financial obligations shouldered by local health agencies have rocketed skyward, forcing the same people’s tax burden higher than if they cared for literally any person other than one’s self.

Therefore, conservatives who believe abhorrent actions and attitudes are patriotic, but instead conflate a personal desire to rebel as if it would in any way truly resemble civic duty.
An American conservative who confuses blind allegiance to Donald Trump as patriotic, even after witnessing his authoritarian tendencies and multiple attempts to violate constitutional law and norms is called a conflatriot.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
