That guy wraps himself in the flag, constitution, bibles and guns but was a draft dodger and a sellout for the 1%. He’s a textbook cosplaytriot.

Words you can keep

Cosplaytriot

An individual (typically an arrogant, hot-tempered male) who exudes faux patriotism. Often the subject claims pride in their country and dresses head to toe in gear supporting a single (often fascist) politician. Will likely claim to hate government but is willing to buy everything from their nearest military surplus store and dress up like paramilitary rejects from Wish to fight anyone who speaks ill of their dear leader. Prone to delusions of grandeur and failed civil war re-enactments. On their off days, they can be seen sporting the merchandise of their demigod as if he were an SEC football team.
Did you see all of those cosplaytriots storm the Capito on January 6th, 2021l? How embarrassing for our country to see a bunch of adults LARPing unsuccessfully against their own government.

cosplaytriot

People who like to dress up and pretend to be patriots but really hate their country.
The people who invaded the U.S. Capitol on January 6 trying to overthrow the government tried to dress up and call themselves patriots, but they're really just cosplaytriots.

cosplaytriot

A portmanteau of cosplay and patriot. Someone who cosplays as a patriot but is actually a traitor to their nation.
Look at that cosplaytriot in the MAGA hat and tacti-cool gear, dude definitely stormed the capitol and tried to overturn an election.

cosplatriot

noun: a person (almost always a middle-aged straight white male from North America) who despite never actually serving in the military, enjoys buying as much tacticool gear as their paycheck can handle. Unfortunately that's usually a lot, because Mom doesn't charge for living in the basement. Cospatriots will attend pointless rallies, voice their opinions about "defending liberty" and own at least a few Grunt Style and Nine Line shirts.
"Hey Jim, want to get a beer after work?"
"Nah I can't, have a cosplatriot gig at the capitol I have to get ready for. We're protesting rights that aren't even being threatened."

Complytriot

Someone who believes that blissful acceptance of mandates and restrictions of their freedoms are, in fact, outward signals of 'real' or 'new' patriotism. The will happily give up their constitutional freedoms in exchange for whatever easiest path unfolds before them, without regard to history or sacred rights.
That cloth mask is woefully ineffective at protecting anyone from infection. "Hey man, just be a complytriot and mask up so we can get to the game on time!"
